Sentimental & Stylish: Melissa Mor on Push Presents & The Story Behind Mrs. Push

What’s the story behind Mrs. Push—was there a single moment that sparked it?
When I was pregnant with my first baby over ten years ago, I became obsessed with finding the perfect push present. I wanted something that captured that moment in time, something meaningful but still my style. Everything I found felt either too generic or was cheesy “mom jewelry.” I wanted subtle symbolism, something that represented my baby without screaming it. That search turned into Mrs. Push: a destination where moms can find pieces that feel deeply personal, but still chic enough to wear every day.

Modern Push Presents
In your words, what is a push present today, and how has the tradition evolved?
A push present isn’t just a “reward” for giving birth it’s a keepsake that marks a transformation. It’s that moment you realize you’re somebody’s mom, and your whole world just expanded. Today’s push presents are more personal and intentional than ever. It’s less about the size of the diamond and more about meaning: initials, birthstones, silhouettes, or a hidden engraving that makes you smile every time you look down.
When you design for new moms, what feeling are you trying to bottle up—relief, pride, connection, something else?
Connection. That quiet, emotional moment when you’re looking at your baby and can’t believe they’re yours. I want each piece to hold that energy, to be a tiny time capsule of love, awe, and gratitude that you carry with you every day.

Design DNA
What are your non-negotiables for everyday-wear mom jewelry?
Comfort and quality. Every clasp has to be secure, every chain durable, every edge smooth. Moms are tugged, pulled, and multitasking all day, our pieces have to keep up.
How do you balance “timeless” with “current”?
You want to think before purchasing any piece of jewelry. “Will I love this piece 10-20 years from now?” Will it still be something you want to wear when your kids are graduating college? Or is it something more trendy that will only last through the “baby stage”?
I personally love these Adore Hearts for that reason. They're hearts with a tiny birthstone (and engravable) They are very subtle and sentimental and will stand the test of time.

Walk us through your material choices.
We use solid gold, diamonds, and natural or genuine birthstones & some sterling silver since we’ve had some requests. Everything is made to be lived in & worn everyday.
Personalization & Story
What are the smartest ways to personalize without dating a piece?
Less is more. I love initials or silhouettes over full names, and subtle “birthstones by the yard” or zodiac signs for a subtle nod. Engravings on the back or inside of a charm add intimacy, you know it’s there, even if no one else does.

Do you have a favorite subtle personalization detail most customers overlook?
Yes the placement of the stone. For instance, setting a birthstone off-center or inside a bezel makes it feel modern and intentional.
Tell us about a design that’s become one of your bestsellers.
Our custom child silhouette pendant. You can capture your child’s little features, from curls to chubby cheeks, and it instantly becomes a family heirloom.
Mommy & Me: Match, but Make it Meaningful
What makes a great “Mommy & Me” set?
We love a birthstone mommy and me set. They are subtle and perfect for both mom & kids of all ages. Neither are too sophisticated or too juvenile.
Here is an example of our peridot mommy & me matching set for the August mom.

Any tips for kid-friendly sizing, safety, and care?
Always size with growth in mind—adjustable chains and sturdy clasps are key. For little ones, bracelets should fit snug but comfortable, and I always recommend removing them for swimming or rough play.
If someone wants a multi-child stack or charm suite, where’s the best place to start?
Start with your first baby’s piece, a name or birthstone and build over time. Each addition becomes part of your story. I love when stacks evolve naturally with each milestone.

Heirloom Potential
What design decisions turn a daily piece into a future heirloom?
Thickness, quality materials, and engravings that tell a story. Heirlooms aren’t about trends, they’re about craftsmanship and meaning. A solid setting and classic structure will stand the test of time.
How do you think about engraving for the next generation?
Think sentiment over stats. Instead of just names or dates, engrave a message like “You were my greatest gift” or initials that future generations can reinterpret.
Care basics: what should new moms actually do (and not do)?
Take jewelry off for deep cleaning or chemical exposure, but don’t overthink it! These pieces are made to be worn. Gently clean with warm water and a soft brush. Avoid lotions and perfumes directly on gold.

Gifting & Buying Guide
Push-present planning 101: ideal timelines?
For custom pieces, I suggest starting around the beginning of the third trimester. Production typically takes 4–8 weeks, so it’s ready close to your due date or shortly after baby arrives.
Budget tiers—$250, $1,000, $3,000+?
- $250: Dainty gold Engraveable heart ring

- $3,000+: Diamond tennis necklace with subtle hidden birthstones near the clasp
For partners: what details should they gather before ordering?
Know the baby’s name (or initial!), due date, mom’s metal preference, and chain length. Screenshots of her current jewelry are gold, they help us match her style perfectly. For some things its best to wait until baby is here. Like birthstone pieces, nothing is for sure until after birth!
Trends & Timelessness
What micro-trends in mom jewelry are you loving now—and which will still feel right in ten years?
I love layered personalization—mixing names, initials, and birthstones in a curated way.
Is there a design you stopped selling because it didn’t age well?
When we first launched, we had many more styles on the site. As time goes on & we know what sells and what people are gravitating towards we are constantly editing and refining our selection. But long story short yes- our customers come to us for personalization. We’ve stopped selling basic hearts, even mama necklaces- we still have a few to choose from but the bestsellers are personalized!
Birthstones are back—any unexpected color pairings you recommend?
I love mixing warm and cool tones like ruby with aquamarine or peridot with sapphire. It’s unexpected but surprisingly harmonious, especially in multi-child pieces. But since we are focused on family jewelry the color combos are not always up to us! I love this ring, which is a stackable band and can be customized with any amount of birthstones. I actually think it’s SO chic & unexpected as a pinky ring.

Lightning Round
First piece you’d sell if you were starting today?
A mini silhouette charm- timeless, personal, and endlessly customizable.
Everyday stack: what’s on your wrist/neck right now?
A mix of my kids’ initial bracelet, my medallion necklace with the kids names & birthstones & their handwritten names engraved on the back and my two Love Bangles that I never take off!
The one jewelry-care tip you wish every mom knew:
Wear your jewelry! Your jewelry is meant to live your story with you, not sit in a box.
